CTF Rules:
General:
- By participating in the CTF you acknowledge you have read and agree to these rules
- If you feel anyone has violated the rules please contact the organizers.
- If you have any questions regarding any challenges please contact the organizers.
- Any announcements/updates will be posted in the CTFd platform.
- The format of all flags, unless otherwise noted, is isrmctf{...}
- For example: isrmctf{Hey_this_is_not_tldr}
- Do not share/post any of the code or challenges found in the CTF outside GM
Etiquette:
- No hacking or attacking the CTFd site or participants including but not limited to using scanning, denial of service, and or brute forcing tools. Hacking/attacking the site or participants will result in disqualification.
- Hacking allowed only on any challenges where hacking activity is part of the challenge (e.g. Website as a challenge with hidden flags, password hashes where brute force tools might be used).
- Except for you teammates, do not share or post any flags. Don't spoil the fun for other teams.
- Please refrain from discussing solutions to challenges with others. Hints will direct participants to approved sources for training/tools.
Scoring:
- The scoring is designed to encourage more active participation and leans more towards education as opposed to competition.
- EASY challenges will be WORTH MORE THAN more DIFFICULT challenges.
- There will be NO DEDUCTIONS for hints.
- Hints may include links to some form of training and or suggested tools which will help solve the challenge.
- Scoring will be dynamic, as more teams solve a challenge the less the challenge is worth. Therefore, the value of a challenge will drop over time as more teams solve the challenges.
- The dynamic scoring will be done on a linear scale using the following equation: Initial_point_value - (Decay * Solve_Count)
- The dynamic scoring decay will stop once the minimal score level is met for the challenge.
- The CTF dev team will determine the Max, Min, and Decay based on the difficulty of the challenge.
- The team with the highest amount of points and does so more quickly will win.
- If two or more teams tie the winner will be judged by a write up on a challenge of choice. Additionally, we will be planning a CTF Teams debrief/after party where we can commiserate, share, and learn.
Teams:
- The CTF will be setup as a team effort.
- A team can consist of 1 to 4 participants.
